Jeli Trip..

The next thing that happen is we had a trip to Jeli today to see the new UMK Campus. Well technically let me let the pictures tell you the story..

The construction site of Jeli campus

 The water tower..

The front is the FASA faculty building and the back is the hostel

The faculty building.

The overall layout of the campus..

 The hall in construction..

So technically that's all that is available in Jeli campus. Seriously and they said that we are shifting in April or September. Are they serious? How are we going to live in this place? :( And are we going to study while they continue building the campus? Hmm..

Next we continued to 'Bandar Jeli'. So technically I was expecting a city.. but all I could see was a 'Pekan Jeli' =.= Here are some pictures..
The bus station..

Some food shops

It is seriously a small town and the nearest mart to the campus is a Petronas station. *sigh* So much different compared to Pengkalan Chepa.. No more Pantai Timur, no more KB Mall... T.T

So after resting a while, we continued our journey and had a rest stop at a mosque for the Muslim students to pray. The mosque is a replica of the Beijing Mosque. Here are some pictures..

A very unique design for a mosque. Not the usual architecture..

Anyway, we continued our journey and stopped at a nearby food outlet to have lunch. Then we went back to UMK Pengkalan Chepa campus..
Quite a tiring day but really an eye opener..

Tomorrow I have to go to Terengganu for a preperation camp for candidates for MPP. Wish me luck.

Ciao~

Business Week ^^

A super busy week!! Business Week! I suggested to my group that we sell handicrafts which I felt would really appeal to the customers. So we did a consignment with a supplier from Armensa Sdn Bhd. And we sold really nice products. We did quite well even though at first we were worried whether it was the right choice. Here's a few pictures :)

Some of our products :)

It was a great experience selling and it really enlightens me about business. Even though it was a super busy week I really learnt a lot from it. Teamwork is really super duper important to run a business and without it things could really go badly! Besides that, we have to think about the ways to attract customers and also how to promote our items. The items that were not selling as good as others we had to promote them so that we can clear stock. I had to have a good relationship with the supplier as well and En. Abdul Rahman was a great supplier. He manage to help send in more stock when our stocks were depleting and also because of that we manage to run our business successfully.

Now what's left is all the reports and presentations! *sigh* Ganbatte ne~ :)

Speaker's Corner...

The next event that took place is English Week and I participated in the Speaker's Corner.

What I can say about Speaker's Corner is.... It's so intimidating. So scary. It was at the middle of the campus where everyone can pass by and just watch. *shivers* Just thinking about it is scary but the experience was enlightening. My topic was about Sex Education in Malaysia. On whether it should be practised or not. Well, I left it to the audience to think about the topic. Overall it was a nice experience!! And I won third place! ^^ Didn't expect to win but thank God that I did.

The hamper that I own I shared it with the class and also Miss Jam. Thanks to them I had the courage to go up there and talk. Maybe I'll participated again next time with more courage! :)

The other contestant were great as well. I could learn a lot from the way they talked. Speaking in front of a crowd really takes a lot of courage and bravery. And also we can't show our fear in front of the audience. Besides that, we have to talk with confidence and clearly so that the audience understands us.

An experience that is really interesting!! I really improved on my speaking skills that day :)

Asas Keusahawanan Talk and KARISMA meeting.

The next event was the talk for the Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship subject. This talk was to prepare us for the coming Entrepreneur Bazaar Week. The topic was Business Opportunities Selection and Entrepreneur’s Key Characteristics by Mr. Nadzrin Mohd Nawi. He is from Jepun Mari company who distributes Japan items. So he gave us a talk on how to do business and grab opportunities during the bazaar. We also manage to ask him some questions on how to attract customers.

This really taught us and gave us ideas on how to operate our business successfully. Thanks to him I really learnt alot! :)

So after the talk, I had to rush for KARISMA meeting. Let me introduce KARISMA. It is a club on the national level that was initiated by the government based on the 1Malaysia concept. And this club is participated by all IPTA and IPTS. So, after one semester, we manage to establish a branch at UMK. :)

Since I was the vice-president so I had to organise this meeting with my president and to group up all the members. We had to encourage the students of UMK to participate in this club as it is encouraged by the government and also it is a good help to build the students positively. So that night we had the meeting to introduce KARISMA to the new members and also to take picture for the KARISMA card that we were making. Then the board members had a meeting for the launching of the club which will take place around March.

Here's a bit about KARISMA UMK. The blogspot address is karismaumk.blogspot.com and also http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002050083863&sk=wall for the Facebook page. Please feel free to check it out :)

Back in UMK...

Just got back from Chinese New Year holidays.. So now back in UMK :) So quiet now.. no one is back yet. Most of them are coming back tomorrow (the earliest) *sigh*

Anyway, let's continue the events in UMK.. the next event would be..having dinner at Dr. Mariam's house.
She had this gathering for SBP1, SBP2 and also SBT2. So I manage to get to know some seniors better and also Dr. Mariam's family members. They were really friendly and nice ^^ That night it was raining heavily like how it rains everyday in Kelantan and there was a UMK bus ready to fetch us to Dr. Mariam's house. Her house was really cosy and comfy but due to the rain and also the number of people it was rather crowded in the house. But it was really fun because we could mingle around with the seniors and also with Dr. Mariam's family.

The food was delicious!! とてもおいしい!!The chocolate cake and the satay was scrumptious! Yummy!! Thinking about it makes my mouth water now. Hehe :)

Didn't have pictures from that day. I think it is still in Amirul's camera. I'll get them later and post it here.. til then.. Ciao! :)

The past few events :)

There are a couple of events that happened before the Chinese New Year break so let's start with... FASA Sports which occurred on the 1st of January!

Ok.. Firstly, FASA Sports is an event where all the courses in FASA will participate in various sports activities. The main intention is for interactions between the courses and I totally agree that it did. I managed to get to know more people especially seniors. It was a great experience. I entered the volleyball and scrabble competition and unfortunately we lost for the volleyball competition. Technically we didn't have much practice and nearly all of us have no experience in volleyball competition. Well we've just got to work harder next time!! ^^

Fortunately, we won for the scrabble competition! YAY!! *jumps and cheers* It's really a surprise but at least we manage to help contribute some marks for the course. The guys did the best in DOTA. They won all the courses! Woohoo!! :)

Here are some pictures from the opening ceremony. Sorry there aren't for the other matches. Was busy cheering.. Haha :)

Those are the pictures from the opening ceremony of FASA Sports! I'll update on the other events soon. Bye! :)
